flock to Saxony to welcome the PASSAT
Mosel bei Zwickau/Germany: It is no accident that the Passat B6 is being
hailed as VW’s new volume production flagship: with its strik-ing
chrome radiator grill, it very much sets the seal on the appear-ance of
the VW brand name in the superior medium category. The car has been rolling
off the assembly lines at Mosel/Zwickau since the middle of 2005. The
response from the customers is thoroughly positive, was the satisfied
comment made by VW management spokes-man Michael Oeljeklaus in Mosel,
and he is anticipating full capac-ity operation for 2006 with 1,050 units
per day or 200,000 units per year. With the advent of the new Passat,
a number of suppliers from the plastics sector have re-located so as to

Delivery of thefirst ThermoGrain one-shot plant
R+S Technik delivered the Type UFA 2010 all-purpose moulding plant in
October 2005 to their long-standing customers Struc-tuplas-Risselberg
NV based in Izegem, Belgium. The Belgians have already been producing
natural fibre door trims for the latest generation of the Astra on R+S
plants. The patented ThermoGrain technology was developed jointly between
R+S, Structuplas-Risselberg and Hup-pert Engineering, Germany, and is
going into series production for the first time. The Astra Twin Top convertible
is to be built in Antwerp with a scheduled annual volume of 35,000 units
per year.

cargo box of the mid-size Toyota Tacoma pickup truck are each topped with
a moulded cover that protects the exterior sheet-metal dur-ing normal
loading and unloading operations. The box-rail covers and tailgate cover
are injection moulded by Plastikon Industries of Hayward, CA/USA. The
material selected for these parts is Sequel 1514 thermoplastic polyolefin
